Back in November the club held our inaugural Come Stein With Me evening. Based on the popular British TV show (Come Dine With Me), in which a group of strangers host each other for dinner parties. Around 10 Wanderers hosted their own evening of food, drink and questionable chat.
Whilst our COVID safe bubbles of 5 weren’t complete strangers, it was a great way for Wanderers from across the club to meet up with clubmates new and old. Our hosts ranged from 24 season veterans like Big Tommy to newer additions like Johnny “B” Stark, Brook “gunning for Robbo’s loudmouth title” Wright and everyone’s favourite International Superstar 7s athlete Ando.
The evening was a success by all measures, with new clubmates connected, many Steinlagers consumed, some great hospitality on show and a few sleeves of Jaeger thrown in for fun.
As a club, we’d like to thank all of our hosts that welcomed their fellow clubmen into their homes: Fender, Johnny B Stark, Sassy, Brook, Gully, Rob T, Big Tommy, Ando and Jammie Harris.
Following the evening’s success, we’ll be hosting a similar event on Saturday 16th January, but with a local twist. Our Makan Night will see another batch of willing recruits host an evening at their favourite local eatery. If you’d like to sign up as a guest, register here:
